After volunteers spend time planting trees and making sure the native saplings go into the ground correctly, we need to make sure the trees survive.
Our projects exhibit 85 percent survivability!

This low mortality rate is directly related to our planting methods and the continued site maintenance after the initial planting, which involves watering, mowing and the removal of invasive species. All of this hard work allows the trees to grow and shade out many invasive species (i.e. Reed Canary Grass, English Ivy, and Himalayan Blackberry) while reducing erosion and increasing water quality.

Maintenance occurs predominantly in the summer months.
