VANCOUVER, WA – Dec. 15, 2021 – For the 14th consecutive year, J.D. Power recognizes Clark Public Utilities for ranking highest in residential customer satisfaction among midsize electricity providers in the Western United States.

The J.D. Power 2021 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study measures customer satisfaction with residential electric utilities by examining six key factors, which cover all areas of utility operations: power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; communications and customer care. Surveyed customers scored Clark Public Utilities highest in five of six categories and the overall score of 824 is a 12-point increase over the previous year.

“Maintaining such an outstanding performance for 14 years is tremendous achievement by everyone in this utility,” said Jim Malinowski, president of the Clark Public Utilities Board of Commissioners. “Clark Public Utilities has established itself as an industry leader in delivering quality customer satisfaction, sound fiscal practices and reliable service.”

J.D. Power designs and finances the study, a standardized measure of satisfaction available for the electric residential utility industry. More than 100,000 residential electric utility customers throughout the U.S. responded online to the study. Based on these responses, the study compared 145 electric utility brands, collectively serving over 98 million households.

“We’re committed to acting in our customers’ best interests and standing with them during challenging times,” said Lena Wittler, CEO and General Manager of Clark Public Utilities. “The increase of our overall satisfaction score, despite the extraordinary circumstances of the last year, demonstrates that our customers recognize our dedication to living our values of outstanding service and satisfaction.”

The West region covers Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. Midsize utilities in the report serve between 100,000 and 499,999 residential customers.
