RIDE, WALK OR RUN TO HELP FAMILIES IN NEED AT THE 11th ANNUAL CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES RACE FOR WARMTH
-Event benefits Operation Warm Heart, utility’s donation-based customer assistance program-

VANCOUVER, WA – January 8, 2025 – Runners, walkers and bike riders of all ages are invited to join the 11th annual Clark Public Utilities Race for Warmth, a community fundraising event benefitting Operation Warm Heart on Sunday, Jan. 26. Registration is available online now at www.clarkpublicutilities.com/raceforwarmth.

“The Race for Warmth truly has something for everyone,” said Maxie Mayer, Clark Public Utilities Marketing and Events Specialist. “You’re sure to have a great time whether you want to go for a nice walk while supporting a good cause or the athlete looking to set a new personal record at the start of the year.

The 5K and 10K take place at the Clark Public Utilities office at 1200 Fort Vancouver Way. The kid’s race around the parking lot starts at 8:30 a.m. The 10K run begins at 9 a.m. and follows a timed and flagger-controlled course through Fort Vancouver, along the Columbia River and the streets of downtown. The 5K walk/run begins at 9:10 a.m.

The 16-mile bike ride takes off at 9 a.m. from Hudson’s Bay High School and follows an out-and-back route to Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park, a familiar favorite for many local cyclists. Bike ride registration includes secure bike check services following the ride.

Participants and their friends and family are invited to celebrate at an onsite afterparty in Clark Public Utilities parking lot, featuring live music, games, food and beverages provided by local partners.

Registration is $40 and is available online until midnight Jan. 25. Day-of registration is available on-site before the start of the race for $50, preferred shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Every dollar of registration fees goes directly to Operation Warm Heart, the utility’s in-house program to assist Clark County households with utility expenses during a financial crisis.

Businesses looking for new ways engage employees, promote wellness and showcase company’s values are invited to register groups of employees. All registrations are tax-deductible, and a discount is available for 10 or more. For more details on this, contact Maxie Mayer at [email protected]

All participants receive a long-sleeve performance shirt, bib number and drawstring race bag filled with gifts and coupons from our generous local business partners. Every runner and walker can also receive a detailed race receipt with their official time and ranking per age group.
