CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD SHIFTS REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE TO FIRST AND THIRD TUESDAYS OF MONTH
– Change from second and fourth Tuesdays reduces conflicts with other public meetings. –

VANCOUVER, WA – January 24, 2017 – The Clark Public Utilities commission moved today to revise its regular meeting schedule from the second and fourth Tuesday of each month to the first and third Tuesday. Meetings will remain at 9 a.m. in the Commission Room at the 1200 Fort Vancouver Way location.

“For many years we met every Tuesday, and then transitioned to twice a month. As other public boards adopted overlapping meeting schedules we heard from customers that it posed a challenge,” said Jane Van Dyke, board president. “This change will eliminate any overlap with Clark County Council and the Port of Vancouver public meetings on the first Tuesday of the month if customers are interested in attending various meetings.”

Beginning on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, the board will begin meeting on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Public comment on non-agenda items has also been added at the start of each meeting to provide an opportunity for feedback. When needed, fifth Tuesdays may continue to be utilized for board workshops and noticed as a special meeting or workshop as required.

“As a board, our goal is always to make meetings accessible to those interested in attending or providing comment,” said Van Dyke. “We certainly welcome public attendance and appreciate customer feedback.”
