Heat pump incentives
Clark Public Utilities offers incentives to customers with electrically heated homes who have a heat pump installed by an approved contractor. Once the installation is complete, the appropriate paperwork is submitted, and the work is inspected by the utility, a reimbursement check will be mailed to the customer.
There are three levels of installation for conventional air source heat pumps in this incentive offering:
| Option |
Rebate amount
|
|
| Good: | Heat pump with PTCS commissioning (required) |
$250
|
| Better: | Heat pump with PTCS commissioning and PTCS duct sealing |
$500
|
| Best: | Energy StarĀ® rated heat pump with PTCS commissioning and PTCS duct sealing |
$750
|
PTCS stands for Performance Tested Comfort Systems.
- PTCS commissioning is the performance testing and adjustments needed to assure that the heat pump is installed to PTCS performance standards.
- PTCS duct sealing means that special diagnostic equipment is used to measure air leakage from heat ducts. The ducts are then sealed to prevent that leakage.
Geothermal
Or, if you choose to install a geothermal
heat pump, the utility makes a $2,000 rebate available.
Pilot program
Clark Public Utilities is participating in a new ductless heat
pump pilot program for homeowners who currently heat their home
with cable ceiling heat, baseboard or wall heaters, and we're offering
a $1,500 rebate (if the system is installed by September 30, 2010) to
help pay for an upgrade.
Loans for heat pump installations are also available. For customers who use the loan program, the incentives will be deducted from the loan total at the time of signing.
Incentives may be withdrawn at any time and additional rebates or promotional offers may be added during the year. Call us at 992-3355 for more information.
