Green Motor Rewind
Green Motor Rewind - newest efficiency
program
What is a Green Motor Rewind?
When a motor fails, the user or owner faces three choices: rewind to a lower efficiency; rewind and maintain the original efficiency; or to replace it with a new motor of either an EPact or premium efficiency design. If the motor rewind resulted in the motor's maintaining its original efficiency, it is commonly called a green rewind.
How does this program work?
- A motor end user takes a motor to a service center for repair. Click here for a list of Green Motor Practice Group
member service centers in Washington.
- The service center rewinds the motor (providing it can be rewound to its original nominal efficiency)
- The service center and Clark Public utilities provide an instant rebate of at least $1 per HP on the end users invoice
What motors qualify?
Qualified motors include NEMA standard horsepower-rated motors between 15 and 5000 horsepower (either NEMA premium or other) that are rewound via certified Green Motor Practice Group member service centers.
What are the incentive levels?
An incentive of $2 per horsepower will be paid to the participating service center that rewound the motor. The service center will pass through at least $1 per horsepower to the end user as a credit on the end user's invoice.
