StreamTeam
Our StreamTeam program
proactively addresses the problems facing the Salmon Creek watershed.
Since the voluntary program’s inception in 1992, more than 600,000
trees have been planted to restore approximately 120 acres of land
along 15 miles of stream length. We've also installed 10 miles of
livestock exclusion fencing, two miles of bank stabilization and
removed tons of garbage - literally! We do this with the help of
dedicated people like you!
The StreamTeam is comprised of more than 500 volunteers who donate more than 3,000 hours of their time each year. Our volunteers come from a myriad of backgrounds including utility employees, Stream Stewards, scout groups, college students, youth groups and a variety of individuals. The StreamTeam is now accepting applications for an AmeriCoprs Restoration Team Leader and a Stream Restoration Coordinator.
We have a wide
array of activities including:
- Tree planting
- Tree potting for our nursery
- Monitoring water quality
- Monitoring plant survival
- Project site maintenance
- Educational outreach
...events to fit everybody's interests!
Our events are popular with both individuals and groups! StreamTeam events are great avenues to meet new people. We also offer crew-leading opportunities for our more experienced volunteers. We welcome the young and young at heart. Our events are held rain or shine.
We supply all of the training, tools, supplies and refreshments. You supply the good company! You can help bring salmon back to Salmon Creek!
