Alternative power

We assist in the development of alternative energy sources through Green Lights. Our Green Lights program supports the development of wind, solar and other "renewable" forms of electricity in the Northwest. Further, we encourage the use of affordable technology by offering loans to our residential customers for the purchase and installation of solar equipment.

Right now "green" or "renewable" power costs a little more than electricity produced from natural gas and other fossil fuels. But as more people choose the benefits of non-polluting power and as technology improves, the cost will come down.

This section of our website includes some basic information about energy alternatives currently being developed. Individual customers can help support efforts to increase our renewable energy options by participating in Green Lights.
