EnergySmart Grocer

The EnergySmart Grocer Program is funded by Clark Public Utilities.

This program helps groceries, convenience stores, restaurants and other facilities with commercial refrigeration to reduce operating costs with energy-efficient upgrades and retrofits. We also provide rebates to offset the purchase price of equipment.

  • Upgrades on refrigeration controls, strip curtains/vinyl doors for walk-in coolers and freezer, and walk-in evaporator fan controls – electronically commutated motors also deliver big savings.
  • Customized energy savings reports outline potential energy savings, rebate amounts, retrofit costs, and simple paybacks. Call Lizzy Safranski at Clark Public Utilities for more information at (360) 992-3053. Sign up for a no-cost energy audit by emailing energysmartonline@peci.org or calling 1-800-230-9420.
  • A skilled field energy analyst will provide project guidance and technical expertise.
  • Rebates offset a portion of your equipment expense, in some cases up to 100 percent of the project cost. Review the Rebate Worksheet under BPA forms on the Energy Smart website to see where you can save money today.

Our mission is to help you achieve energy savings. We don’t charge a fee, nor do we require you to use a specific contractor.
