School programs
Teachers and students are invited to visit the utility’s operations center for a Student Education Program Field Trip. These presentations are geared toward fourth and fifth graders, and include a tour of our operations facilities and hands-on education about electricity, water, and electrical safety.
Clark Public Utilities employees are also available to make a classroom visit to speak to your students about energy and water-related topics, and provide information for career days.
Our Salmon in the Classroom project provides salmon education to Clark County students. Participating classrooms raise live Coho Salmon fingerlings in the fall and hatch out Coho Salmon eggs in the spring. This program is provided in cooperation with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Columbia Springs, an environmental education center.
Off-site field trips are available through Columbia Springs. With more than 100 acres of urban green-space, Columbia Springs is a prefect site to study a variety of environmental topics. Clark Public Utilities is a funding partner.
